John Paul II heritage tour of Poland

Day 1st 
Arriving to Krakow. Our guide welcome you at the Krakow airport or the train station. Check-in at a hotel and first visit to the sanctuary of Krakow – Łagiewniki, famous with sister Faustina and her grave. Visit the Shrine of Jesus, where John Paul II come many times. Dinner and overnight stay in hotel.

Day 2nd 
Breakfast, guided tour of Krakow: the Main Market with St. Mary’s Basilica, Archbishop Palace at Krakowska 3 street, Wawel Hill with its renaissance Royal Castle and Cathedral (the seat of Cardinal Karol Wojtyla before he became Pope John Paul II). Participation in the Holly Mass at St. Mary’s Basilica. Dinner in the restaurant on Old City, an overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 3rd 
Breakfast. Departure to the southern part of Krakow region. On your way short visit to the Niegowic – a first parish, where John Paul II directed after wroclaw-cathedral-1his holly orders. Next, departure to Ludzmierz for a visit to the oldest Parish and church (founded in 13th century) in Podhale region. Sanctuary was visited by John Paul II in 1979 during his first visit in Poland as a Pope. Next departure to Zakopane. City tour with visit to the sanctuary of The God’s Mather of Fatima in Krzeptowki, where is presented the wooden altar used by John Paul II to celebrate Holly Mass in Zakopane. Dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 4rd 
Breakfast. Departure to Kalwaria Zebrzydowska, the most important pilgrimage centre in Malopolska (Krakow) Region. Walk along the Via Dolorosa, built in 17th century by Zebrzydowska Family and visit Bernardine Church – one of the most often visited by young Karol Wojtyla place. Next, departure to Wadowice, the birthplace of Karol Wojtyla (John Paul II). Visit his former home – a Museum nowadays and the parish church, where he was baptized. You will be able also to taste famous Pope’s Kremowka (“cream cake”). Afternoon departure to Oswiecim. Dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 5th 
Breakfast. Guided visit the former Nazi concentration camp Auchwitz-Birkenau, where St. Maximilian Kolbe and St Edith died, the place where John Paul II celebrate his private Way of the Cross services. Departure to CzęstochowaAfternoon visit to Jasna Gora – Czestochowa monastery the most important place for Polish Catholicism. The tour includes the Chapel with the famous icon of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel in Czestochowa. Optional the Jasna Gora evening prayers Apeal.

Day 6th
Breakfast, participation in a Holly Mass at the monastery, check-out from the hotel and departure to Krakow (or Warsaw) for your return flight or next Basilica in Polandpart of your tour. The John Paul II heritage tour of Poland ends.
