Krakow city tour program

You will begin your tour by visiting the Jewish District of Kazimierz to explore the area which used to be inhabited by one of the most diverse Jewish communities in Europe. Then a short drive will take you to the Wawel Hill, which is the embodiment of Poland’s former monarchical glory. Its summit is the Royal Castle and a 14th-century cathedral which hosted almost all coronations and funerals of the Polish monarchy. Having descended the hill, we stroll along Kanonicza and Grodzka Streets to reach Collegium Maius (Great College), the oldest building of the Academia Cracoviensis. After visiting the charming Gothic Krakow_Old Town Market and Cloth Hallcourtyard, we continue to the Main Market Square. This bustling heart of the city is a perfect place for picking up souvenirs, especially in the Cloth Hall, which has been the local market place for centuries. Complete your tour by visiting the St Mary’s Church, where the stunning medieval altar sculpted by Veit Stoss is located and a bugle call sounds towards the four corners of the world each and every hour. The Cracow city tour lasts approx. 4 hours.

Gdansk – the Solidarity birthplace tour

Day 1st

Your arrival in Gdansk, transfer to a hotel. Depending on your arrival time, an evening walk through the city, or some time to relax. A welcoming dinner and first overnight stay at a hotel during your Poland tour.

Day 2nd 

malbork-castle-1Breakfast, then a first guided tour of Gdansk – Old Town with Golden Gateway, Neptune’s Fountain, the Artus Court and Dluga Street. Afterwards visit at Mariacka street and a walk along Motlava river with its famous wooden Crane. You tour ends with a visit near the Solidarity Monument at the Gdansk Shipyard – the birthplace of the Solidarity movement. Dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 3rd 

Breakfast, then a transfer to Oliwa for the organ music concert in the Oliwa Cathedral with its famous organs. Next, your visit Sopot – a lively bathing resort, popular for relaxation. Gdynia is next famous for its Aquarium and a maritime museum based in a historic ship. Return to Gdansk for a dinner in a restaurant and an overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 4th 

Breakfast, a boat trip around the Gdansk harbor, passing the Westerplatte, where the Second World War started, or a longer cruise along the Hel Peninsula, with beautiful views of old fisherman’s houses and lighthouses. Short break in Hel – time to relax. Afternoon return to Gdansk,  dinner and an overnight stay at your hotel.

Day 5th

Breakfast, departure to Malbork. A visit to the Malbork castle – the largest brick, medieval castle in Poland, built in XIII c. by the Teutonic Order. A guided tour with an optional special offer for school classes. Afternoon return to Gdansk for your return flight or train or next part of your Poland travel. Your Solidarity birthplace tour ends.

Day 5th 

Breakfast, then a whole day hiking trip  to the Tatra National Park. A guided tour to Morskie Oko (“The eye of the sea”) – a beautiful lake surrounded by the highest peaks of the Polish Tatra mountains, or a hike along the Koscieliska Valley, famous for many Jurassic caves. Day 6th 

Breakfast, afterwards departure to Pieniny mountains for a picturesque and safe raft cruise on the Dunajec river. All about Poland

Day 1st 

Your arrival to Warsaw,  where you are welcomed by our local guide. Transfer to a hotel. In the afternoon, you will start the tour of Warsaw. The capital of Poland was totally destructed in WW II and then rebuilt. You will visit the Old Town, Lazienki Park with Frederic Chopin monument and Palace on the Water, Warsaw Uprising Monument and the Royal Castle. In the evening, a welcoming dinner in our hotel and a firts overnight stay at a hotel during your Poland tour.

Day 2nd

On the way there, you will stop in Malbork to see the medieval fortress of the Teutonic Knights – the greatest castle in Poland.  Afterwards you will continue the drive to Gdansk. Check-in at a local hotel in the evening. Dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3rd

After breakfast the sightseeing tour of the maritime center of Poland will begin: you will see the historical port town of Gdansk, birthplace and home of Solidarity; Cathedral, Neptune’s Monument, Zuraw Gdanski, the harbor, visit to the monument at Westerplatte. Then you will see Sopot, the health resort with the longest pier in Europe. Then you will go to the Gothic Cathedral in Oliwa, where you can listen to a concert on magnificent baroque pipe organs. Dinner and an overnight in the hotel in Gdansk.

Day 4th

After breakfast, you will drive to Torun – one of the most beautiful cities of Poland, picturesquely located on the banks of the Vistula River. After the check-in at a local hotel, you will visit the beautiful Old Town and Museum of the famous Polish astronomer – Nicolas Copernicus. Free time in the evening. An overnight stay in Torun.

Day 5th

After breakfast, you will drive to Poznan with a stop in Gniezno – the historical capital of Poland. A guided city walk, then Main entrance of church in Poznanthe departure to a hotel in Poznan for a  dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 6th

A morning tour of the city of Poznan. Among many famous places, you will see: the impressive Town Hall and the oldest cathedral in the country with the tombs of the first Polish rulers. In the afternoon, you will start a trip to Czestochowa. You can celebrate an evening mass at Jasna Gora Monastery in Czestochowa. Dinner and an overnight in a hotel in the city.

Day 7th 

Morning visit to the famous Black Lady – Queen of Poland Sanctuary. The Pauline Fathers will introduce you to the Jasna Góra Monastery: its history, (which dates back to1292), treasures and the miraculous icon of Black Madonna, the Queen of Poland. Next, you will leave Czestochowa and start your drive to Zakopane. On your way, you will stop in Wadowice – John Paul II hometown. Arrival to Zakopane in the evening. Accommodation in a hotel. Dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 8th

A morning tour of Zakopane – Poland’s „winter capital”, including the Chocholow Village. A cable car ride up the Gubalowka hill, where you will see the panoramic view of the area. An afternoon excursion to Koscieliska Valley will complete our tour. Dinner in a regional restaurant and an overnight stay in Zakopane.

Day 9th

After breakfast, you will drive to the Pieniny National Park for Dunajec River safe rafting. You will also be able to enjoy the view of the two beautiful castles of Niedzica and Czorsztyn, before you enter the deep gorge surrounded by white limestone peaks. In the evening you will have some free time to visit Krupowki and enjoy the beauty of the town. Dinner and  an overnight stay in Zakopane.zakopane-1

Day 10th

You leave Zakopane in the morning and go on to visit Wieliczka Salt Mine. It’s 800-years old making it the oldest salt mine in Europe. It’s famous for the splendid St.Kinga’s Chapel with salt sculptures and relicts, corridors housing the original constructions and the subterranean salt lakes. After the tour, you will continue your drive to Cracow, with a possible stop in Lagiewniki, where you can visit the ?agiewniki Cathedral – Sister Faustyna’s Sanctuary of Divine Mercy. An evening arrival to Cracow for a dinner and an overnight stay in the city.

Day 11th

After breakfast, you will begin a tour of Cracow, a treasure house of architecture and art since X century. Your walking tour will start on the Wawel Hill with its Royal Castle and Coronation Cathedral, burial place of kings and famous Poles. The tour also includes the Old Town surrounded by defense walls, with the Barbican, the Market Square, dominated by St. Mary’s Church with the famous XV century linden wood altar.  The additional point of your visit may be the Jagiellonian University, one of the oldest in Europe. Dinner and a night stay in your hotel in Cracowow.

Day 12th

After breakfast you will depart for trip to Auschwitz – the German Nazi concentration camp and now a martyrdom museum. After this tour, you will go back to Cracowow to spend a free afternoon in this beautiful old city. In the evening, Krakow_Old Town Market and Cloth Hallyou will have a farewell dinner in our hotel.

Day 13th

You will leave your hotel after breakfast and drive to the airport. Departure from Cracow and your return flight or next part of your Poland travel. Your All about Poland trips end.

Breakfast. Excursion to Sromowce Nizne for a safe rafting cruise through Pieniny Mountains on Dunajec Gorge (or a two hour break in Kroscienko  –  the “capital” of this mountain region). An afternoon drive back to Zakopane through picturesque mountains, with possible stops in Debno to visit famous 15th wooden church with rich polychrome, or in Niedzica to admire its picturesque castle with Gothic and Renaissance parts located between two lakes.  Dinner in a regional restaurant with live folk music,  an overnight stay at a hotel in Zakopane.

Day 8th

Wawel royal castleBreakfast. Departure to the city of Sandomierz – an example of Renaissance architecture in Poland. Your visit includes a walk through the streets of the Old Town, and a visit to the castle and St. Jacob’s Church with Dominican Monastery. Transfer to Lublin. Dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 9th

Breakfast. Transfer to Kozlówka where you can visit  the famous Polish “Museum of Socialism” with the gallery of the art of socialist realism.  Transfer to Kazimierz Dolny –  a beautifully located old town on the Vistula river banks, known also as a place especially cherished by artists. A guided tour of the town. An afternoon departure to Warsaw. Dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 10th

Breakfast.  Farewell meeting with our tour leader and  your private transfers to Warsaw air-port for return flights or next part of your Poland travel.
